Action, reflection, transformation (The a.r.t. of Fulfilment)

8- 17 September

Retreat leaders: Steff Hill & Ros Boughtflower

The a.r.t. of Fulfilment is an innovative, in-depth programme suitable for general adult audiences – people seeking to explore deeper meaning in life

Starting from your current perspective, through a process of individual and group inquiry in a supportive atmosphere, you explore profound questions around:

  • how you actually live in the world
  • how this can either limit you or help you develop in the long-term
  • whether you can change
  • whether you have choices
  • what makes a happier and more fulfilling life
  • what living up to your potential might mean

These investigations are structured as a variety of enjoyable yet challenging exercises, reflections and discussions.
Most importantly, you will have structured daily exercises and techniques to take away with you to help you continue to inquire over time, and integrate your discoveries into daily life.

About the leaders

Having been a long term student of Lama Zopa Rinpoche’s for over twenty years, Steff decided to join the first facilitator accreditation for this new and exciting programme in June 2016.  What attracted her to this programme was its practical accessibility for anyone interested in cultivating positive inner qualities such as happiness, kindness and mental peace.  Steff has many years of experience working with and facilitating group learning having worked as a university lecturer in London as well as leading meditation groups, short retreats and foundational Buddhist programmes at Jamyang London.  The secular approach of this programme was of particular personal appeal as it offers the potential to nurture internal insights from which to evolve an understanding of the three interconnected themes, and their fuller realisation, as it deepens within individuals.  In her professional work, Steff has developed skills with which to support groups with sensitivity and awareness whilst they engage with a process of learning.  What she loves about this programme is that it does not answer questions, actively encouraging people to remain open so that insights and understanding may continue to arise.  Steff is currently teaching Forrest Yoga and offering Shiatsu bodywork in Worcestershire.

Ros’ passion is to help people find meaningful solutions to their challenges and to help them get to a deeper level happiness. Through this people can enjoy what they do as well as lead happier, healthier and fulfilling lives for themselves and others.

She was inspired to help create the Art of Fulfilment programme by the mix of deeper level reflection that the programme offers but also by the possibility for everyday application, through small steps that are manageable for all but that ripple out to make a bigger difference in a challenging world.

She is a long term student of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and is often to be found on retreat. A qualified coach and mentor and a trained teacher of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teaching at the London Centre for Mindfulness, she is also trained in action inquiry. She works across business, not for profit organisations, government, community based organisations and more recently within the NHS and education.

She has a joyful and compassionate approach and draws on a dharma background to offer an accessible and modern secular approach.
