I am happy to learn that a project to set up a Buddhist hospice has been launched in conjunction with the Jamyang Buddhist Centre in London. [This is] a true expression of compassion and I am always encouraged when people take practical steps like this to put such positive motivation into effect.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama
It is good to go ahead with the FPMT UK retreat centre, Land of Joy. It is very worthwhile to have such a place for retreat. Please proceed according to the plans you have already made.
From time to time there will be obstacles and difficulties, and at that time we should check on what is best to do.
I recommend that you make strong prayers to Tara and to Medicine Buddha for the success of the project. I will keep the project in my prayers.
Lama Zopa Rinpoche
Having an FPMT centre in the UK will be very, very helpful for the practitioners as it will provide a space to do practice. I strongly support it. Although the main practice needs to be at the home and workplace in our daily life, having such a dedicated place and support from advanced students will be very useful.
I have been thinking to have an FPMT retreat centre in this country for a long time and I really hope and encourage people to give help and support in whatever way you can to make this happen.
